Use Instructions for Dogs & Horses:
Prepare the Area: Gently clean the affected hot spot area with a mild, pet-safe soap and water.
Thoroughly pat the area dry with a clean cloth.
If there's matted fur or hair covering the hot spot, carefully and gently trim it away to allow the oil to penetrate the skin and the area to breathe.
Perform a Patch Test (Crucial First Step!): Before full application, apply a very small amount (1-2 drops) of the oil to a healthy, discreet area of your animal's skin (e.g., inner thigh, behind the ear).
Wait 24 hours to ensure there is no adverse reaction, redness, or irritation. If any irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.
Apply the Oil: Shake the bottle gently before each use.
Apply a few drops of the Hot Spot Oil Treatment directly onto the clean, dry hot spot.
Gently massage the oil into the skin with your fingertips until it is absorbed.
Frequency of Application: Apply 2-3 times daily, or as needed, until the hot spot begins to heal and the itching or irritation subsides.
Prevent Licking (Important): While our ingredients are natural and generally safe, it's best for the oil to absorb into the skin rather than be licked off.
If your animal attempts to lick the treated area immediately after application, consider using an Elizabethan collar (E-collar/cone) or a protective wrap (ensure it's not too tight) for 10-15 minutes to allow the oil to fully absorb.
Important Cautions & Warnings: For External Animal Use Only. Discontinue use immediately if any irritation, rash, or adverse reaction occurs. Keep out of reach of children and pets when not in use. Consult a veterinarian for persistent or worsening hot spots, or if the hot spot appears severely infected, as underlying issues may require professional diagnosis and treatment.
Storage Recommendation: Store the bottle in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain its potency and extend its shelf life.
